Our Services

  • Early intervention services are provided to children ages 0-3 who are delayed in their communication. Therapy is family centered and focused on building those early language skills. When addressing communication concerns early, children are set up for future success.

  • We provide therapy to children who have trouble pronouncing the sounds necessary for speech. Speech sound disorders can be pattern based (e.g., phonological), motor-based (e.g., articulation, apraxia), or both. We match the intervention to the diagnosis and incorporate principles from orofacial myofunctional therapy when appropriate.

  • Children who communicate by repeating what they hear (echolalia) may be gestalt language processors. These children acquire language in “chunks” rather than single words. Therapy for this development style differs from traditional therapy and follows the way these children naturally acquire language.

  • We believe everyone deserves access to a robust communication system, and an augmentative and alternative communication system provides just that. At Katia’s Speech, we implement anything from low-tech AACs such as picture boards to high-tech AACs such as tablets with a speech-generating app.

Step One.

Step Two.

Receive a comprehensive evaluation

A comprehensive communication evaluation consists of standardized assessments, parent/client interview, and clinical observations. A written report will be provided and intervention approach will be determined by the results.

Step Three.

Begin individualized therapy

Once an evaluation has been completed, your child is ready to begin therapy. Each session is personalized to your child’s unique interests and needs. A typical session lasts 45 minutes and is held at a location most convenient for you.
